Grants requests are currently on hold as we redesign our mission.
Please check back in December for updates.
The Education Fund assistance is only available to winners and encouragement award recipients of the Wisconsin District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. These grants are made possible by the generosity of the
Henry H. Uihlein (Sr.) and Marion (Polly) S. Uihlein Foundation, Inc.
Education Fund assistance is available for a five-year period after winning the Wisconsin District MONC Auditions or receiving an encouragement award. The purpose of these grants is to assist in furthering the careers of young opera artists that have been raised in, gone to school in, or are currently living in Wisconsin. The maximum cumulative award amount is $5,000, and the maximum amount that will be awarded in a single audition is $1,500. At least four months must have elapsed since a singer competed in the Wisconsin District MONC auditions or since their last application to the Supporters of Opera Singers, Inc. before reapplying. Present or former singers on the Metropolitan Opera Roster and members of the Met’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program are not eligible for Education Fund assistance.
